Why is SKART important ? - 23.3.22

It is clear that there is a growing problem of back pain within our society. It is the most common symptom presented to a GP in the UK. Recent back pain figures from the Office for National Statistics show that nearly 31 million days of work are lost every year due to back pain.

Research has also shown that one of the most under-recognised causes of chronic back pain is due to misalignments. Misalignments can occur due to twisting awkwardly, poor sleeping facilities, injury or pregnancy. Misalignments of the vertebra in the spinal column puts pressure on nerves, causing shooting pain, weakness, numbness, tingling and different leg lengths if the pelvis is involved.

What are some of the areas SKART treats? - 23.3.22

Back & Neck Problems that can cause pain, headaches, dizziness, leg pains and restless legs.

The Symphysis Pubis is the joint at the front of the pelvis between the pubic bones. This is held together by fibro cartilage, which is supposed to minimise movement and make the structure rigid. But unfortunately, it can become misaligned leading to pain in the groin, hip area, leg length imbalance, leg weakness or giving way, and pain radiating down the outside of the leg. It can also contribute to the destabilisation of the back, causing general back pain as a secondary problem.

SKART also helps with pain location and treats:

• Cranial issues which can cause headaches, pressure pain and excess baby crying.

• Jaw issues leading to pain.

• Shoulder pain, tingling and numbness down the arm and in the fingers.

• Ileocecal valve issue causing pains in lower right abdominal area and gut spasms.

• Hiatus Hernia issue --> to pain / discomfort under left ribs, indigestion & nausea.

What are the benefits of SKART to me? - 23.3.22

learn to solve back issues safely using effective, practical, non-force correction techniques.

The course is easy to learn and understand, bringing you into the forefront of your profession with these new skills to benefit practice & client health.

With millions of people suffering from pain conditions, you can be the solution.

SKART muscle testing is a way to communicate with the body. It is a biofeedback system that talks to the body in a language which the body understands and can respond to and gives real time feedback. It allows us to use the patient’s own body as the research tool to find out what it needs, where to treat, how to treat and gives feedback on whether the correction has held and corrected the problem area, giving patient reassurance, as it is easy to see the difference.

Using SKART to find imbalances and issues through muscle testing helps remove the doubt, guesswork and the hard work of subjective diagnostics.

ADRENAL FATIGUE & STRESS

PUBLISHES IN NATUROPATHY SPRING 21 ISSUE 2

Even though stress is considered common place in our day-to-day life, it can lead to many problems. Adrenal burnout or the Exhaustion Phase is where the body has coped with long term stress but cannot cope any longer, and symptoms start to show.

The Adrenal Gland controls the bodies fight and flight system. Increased stress and anxiety cause a release of adrenalin into the blood supply. This response is your bodies instinctive response to stress from unexpected events.

are based on the principals of Meridian therapies which have their roots in the practice of Acupressure and Kinesiology, dating back to B.C. Over the years knowledge has been developed on this subject but most articles and research start from the early 1900’s.  In 1964 Dr George Goodheart, an American Chiropractor, extended on this knowledge by discovering that specific muscles of the body when tested could reveal a great deal about a person’s state of health. He concluded that it was not muscle spasms that pulled the spine out of place, but more likely a weak muscle on one side of the body causing a normal muscle opposing it to become or seem tight. Working on just releasing the tight muscle will therefore usually only give short term relief.

Kinesiology is taught in over 200 Universities in America as a ‘Kinesiology & Exercise Science Course’. This course looks at sports management, athletic training and physical education at degree, bachelor's and master's level. In the UK however, Kinesiology is relatively unknown as the practitioners who use it integrate it into their therapies but often don't use it by name directly.

PARACITES: INTERNAL SMALL GAME HUNTING

15 March 2022

I first discovered about parasites through a first-hand experience of amoebic dysentery in India 25 years ago! I assure you it was a completely hideous experience considering the lack of, along with the state of the toilets which were holes over stinking pits. I apologise to anyone eating their dinner at this moment however I realized parasites are a big problem to many people and can be debilitating, embarrassing and dangerous, particularly in a survival situation. When I first learnt about parasites, I was surprised by how often people were affected by them. I discussed the problem with a parasitologist who loved his job and described the process of searching through peoples stools as little game hunting! go to the article page to read the full story

WHEN CHEST PAIN IS NOT DUE TO HEART PROBLEMS

14 February 2022

As I clutched my chest, as the pain shot around my ribs and into my shoulder, I thought oh god! I took myself to the emergency clinic, as every sensible person would. The Accident and Emergency department did a full heart screen on me and said that my heart looked fine, which was a great relief. So, I asked why am I getting this pain and they said it might be muscular or stress related. I left with painkillers, but I was still in pain!

Luckily, I had learnt a back technique called SKART. I got my husband to help me test my back and discovered that my thoracic area was showing that the vertebra was out of place in a couple of areas. So, we treated this area putting the vertebra back into place, then we checked it again and it showed the correction had held. We also used some magnet plasters either side of the spine to ease the spasm.

WHY IS SKART PART OF THE 21ST CENTURY OF HEALTH ?

15 January 2022

SKART(Structural Kinesiology Acupressure Release Technique) is a cutting-edge new diagnostic and therapeutic technique designed, trialled and used for the efficient management of back, neck, hip and leg pain. The online course teaches safe and simple techniques which, when applied to the body, can identify and treat a spectrum of conditions.

Through my work at the Centre for the study of Complementary Medicine, I was approached to run a Chronic Pain research trial for the NHS. This developed into an NHS Chronic Pain Clinic which I ran for 18 years. It was here that SKART was developed, researched and used to help thousands of patients. I had over 80 GPs referring patients to me for a wide spectrum of pain-based issues, in which SKART was fundamental in my ability to locate, identify and treat these skeletal and muscular conditions successfully.

BENEFITS of the CROSS-CRAWL EXERCISE

The brain is bathed in cerebral-spinal fluid. This liquid performs several functions. It protects the brain inside the skull from injury by acting as a hydraulic shock absorber. Stagnation of the cerebral-spinal fluid results in impaired communication within the brain. This also affects the relationships between the brain and the body. This can result in many types of co-ordination problems that can be helped by a very simple exercise. Each movement is merely a type of walking movement, somewhat exaggerated. It involves the use of the opposite limbs together, for example left arm right leg then right arm left leg, such as in exaggerated marching. It is also effective when performed lying flat.

LEARN THIS AMAZING EMOTIONAL STRESS RELEASE TECHNIQUE Under stress, the blood supply to the left and right hemispheres of the brain can become unbalanced. ESR helps to set right this imbalance, and in doing so gives the brain its ideal working conditions. A healthy blood supply is vital to think clearly.

When the body is put under stressful conditions, fear can be experienced, therefore the ‘thinking’ part of the brain is “incapacitated”. The body engages its automatic “fight / flight” mechanism and all the body’s resources are directed into dealing with the problem. When stress levels increase with “too much to do” or “too many things at once” occurring, people can develop feelings of confusion and being “unable to cope”. This state of being swamped and over-powered, can be greatly relieved with the ESR technique
